J.Crew and 3 G's

J. Crew is now catering to its high-end clientele shoppers who currently stock up on their cashmere blend cardigans in 20 colors each season. This jacket is J.Crew's costliest item to date- for $3,000. It's a part of J.Crew's higher end, limited edition line.
That's a lot of cheese for a jacket that indeed looks designer but isn't. But kudos for J. Crew for stepping out of the khaki's-and-driving-loafer's box.
Terra Cotta Warriors

I've been extremely fascinated with the history and origin of the "Terra Cotta Warriors" since seeing a picture of them in my history book in high school so many years ago. It's amazing- these terra cotta warriors were created around 259 B.C. in China, commissioned by Emperor Qin, (who also began contruction of the first Great Wall) to protect his tomb and to protect him in the afterlife. These mindblowing figures, over 7,000 of them, were discovered by Chinese farmers in 1974. Each one is supposed to have a unique facial expression as well.
They are now being exhibited at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, from May 18-Oct 12.
This is seriously a once in a lifetime event, and I am definitely going to make my visit soon.

A Dexerity Game
The object of the game is to move the red block around without getting hit by the blue blocks or touching the black walls. If you can go longer than 18 seconds you are phenomenal. It's been said that the US Air Force uses this for fighter pilots.
Give it a try when the white man ain't around.

Fendi Baguette Sandwich
Ramen = Haute Cuisine

Low on ca$h? Love Ramen? Here's some recipes I found that turn your average 25cent package of Ramen into a high-class meal.
First: Tequila Lime Ramen
Prepare ramen according to package directions minus the flavor packet. Drain noodles. Slice a lime in half and squeeze over the ramen. Add 1/2 shot tequila and a few red-pepper flakes.
Second: Shrimp and Bacon Ramen
Prepare ramen according to package directions without the flavor packet. Drain and set aside. Chop three slices of bacon into bite-sized pieces. Fry until crispy. Add a few popcorn-sized frozen shrimp. Fry four minutes. Add ramen noodles to the pan and toss with a few cilantro leaves.
Third: Bloody Mary Ramen
Cook ramen in one can tomato soup. Add one teaspoon horseradish from a jar, a dash of Worcestershire sauce, black pepper and Tabasco to taste. Garnish with pimento-stuffed olives and a celery stalk. Top with a vodka floater.
Fourth: Healthy Ramen
Use only one cup of water to boil ramen, and toss half a bag of baby spinach in the water while you're cooking it. Add a 1/2 cup cubed tofu and one small grated carrot. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Bon Appetit!

What is in a name...
According to the Associated Press, the name "Emily" tops the list for the 12th time as the #1 baby name... and the name "Jacob" tops the list for the 9th time in a row.
Little Emily and Jacob are going to have a hard time in school when the teacher is talking about the other Emily and Jacob.
Emily is so boring...I am going to name my kid Dakota Skylar Summer Ashleigh Raindrop Snow.

Yapple iFones

The recent sellout of the Yapple iFones at 5 O.C. Apple Stores and at least five others around the country likely means a new model is on the way...according to the Piper Jaffray report, “The limited availability is one of several indications that the release of a new model is imminent … Apple’s Worldwide Developer’s Conference on 6/9 is a likely event at which Apple could announce the design and features of the new device.”
Analysts expect the 2nd generation iPhone is going to be slightly redesigned with 3G mobile data which allows faster Internet access.
Hmm... invent, market, $ell, redesign, market, $ell... and you never considered yourself a fool.
